After Knuppenburg Lake, we drove up the pass to camp at Dog Lake. We wanted more than one little fish for dinner, so we got the kayak in the water about 6:30pm, and paddled towards the talus-sloped mountain. Right away we were getting bites and we had 2 fish on the stringer in the first 10 minutes. The sounder marked scattered fish all over, schools in a few areas and some big ones down near the bottom of the deepest hole. I tried to get my lure to the bottom, but only came up with stockers about 12". We left the lake after 8pm with 7 rainbows on the stringer. Very fun lake and scenic too. We had a nice fish fry with some left over for the freezer. I rated the lake a 4 because 5 would have been catching one of the big ones on the bottom. Tight lines.
