My college buddies and I fished mon tues wed Thursday.
No fish. I got lots of good info from fellow waLakers jaydog and salmonkiller indicating low water levels and no fish.. My report is to confirm and provide additional info.
At Taidnapam you can only use the north launch. They have installed a log boom that keeps the launch mostly clear. We saw no fish until we were a mile down lake and none of them would bite. I prepared a wide variety of lures and we used them all including worms power bait, and shrimp of two different flavors. Nothing worked. The only thing we didn't do was head out at day break.
In retrospect we should have gone down to the launch at the dam (Mossyrock) and tried there. My theory is that when Tacoma power drew down the lake to produce some power all or most of the silvers were drawn down lake. I don't know how far but it seems that it would make the most sense to start at the dam and work up lake.
I hope the lake gets up to full pool which is apparently necessary to get the silvers back up to the Taidnapam area.
