I decided to take my daughter out for a couple of hours and try out the new rod and reel. I was pleasantly surprised to see the lake was calm after a nice Sunday afternoon. We started over by the Military launch around 6:30 fishing spinners around the boat slips. My daughter fished power bait with no luck all night. I had a couple rock bass by the slips before we moved to fish around the island. I changed to a floating crank bait! We caught a nice smallmouth after catching a handful more rock bass. I added one more tiny smallmouth before heading in around 8:40. It was awesome to be able to run the bass boat around a calm lake.. still searching for the money spots for bass on this lake.. if anyone has some tips please let me know(other than trying a different lake haha)
