After drying out from the morning I decided to run up to McMurray at about 5pm. The rain had stopped, at least at my house, but that changed within five minutes of launching lol. Downpour conditions the next 3 hours. Started around the pads and docks to the right of the launch and missed one on a spinnerbait. Worked that shoreline and caught one on a jig and missed two more on a spinnerbait, all small. I decided to motor down to the spawning area and fish my way back out, I also changed my spinnerbait out to a modified Beatle Spin as I figured the bass would be keying on fry in this area. Missed a 2+ on the way into the area and once there it picked up but fish were only to 1.5lbs. The bite stayed fairly consistent all the way up to the park then slowed as the water gets deeper in this area. It was raining very hard at this point, enough that the auto-bilge kicked on, so I motored back to the launch side and fished my way back to the launch leaving at 8pm. All totaled I think I caught 15-18 bass but again, the average size was around 1lb.
