I was camping at Manchester State Park with family over Fathers Day weekend and found that Long Lake was pretty close. My brother hadn't been fishing since we were kids, and I had just bought a Jon boat the other day, so I figured it'd be a good test for it. We launched from the public boat launch and the water was extremely calm, with nobody else on the lake. The lake was covered with dense fog, and we headed just to the north of the boat launch to start fishing some heavy cover where a tree was hanging down into the water. Within a few minutes, my brother caught a dink on a drop shot. We worked the area for about 15 minutes and he caught another, about 1lbs. I was fishing with a spinner and wasn't getting any action at all, so I switched to drop shot. Still nothing. After the 1-pounder, we didn't get any bites.
I'm sure we would have got more bites, but it was my first time out on that lake, and we had family waiting for us at the campground for breakfast. I'd come back for sure if I was in the area and had more time.
