I had really been missing my home water fishing this year, so I did not waste any time to hit Lake Union once it opened back up. I fished it twice this weekend. Once from my kayak and again from the bank on the cut. Saturday morning I hit the main lake. I caught a lot of fish, not a one of them much over a pound. 6 or so of these were on topwater. I was fishing a black Whopper Plopper and had a lot of blow ups and hooked into the 6. There was a hatch going on so the fish were oriented to the surface. I caught them on crankbaits and drop shot too.

Sunday evening I hit the ship canal on the south side for about 1-1/2 hours. I caught 8 fish and lost one. They were better fish. All on a watermelon red curly tail. Fish went up to 2 lbs and were just hammering it.

Here is a quick video of a Belted Kingfisher hitting my topwater lure.
