Started fishing around 6pm. The store was out of live worms, so I a power bait worm. Stayed on the south end of the lake, trolled a needle fish for an hour with 2 colors of lead, got no bites. Switch to a green wedding ring tipped with power bait worm and got a nice fat trout at 4 colors down. Had a great time with the kayak and my dog Daisy! Loving that this lake is back open.

Nice to see Sammamish and Washington reports again. Headed to Sammamish on Friday. Not sure how many colors equal what depth but I have always had good luck trolling in the 35-45 foot range about 60-70 feet back. Flasher, green wedding ring or green hoochie with worm chunk about 12 inches back.

I love fishing Sammamish, traffic is just a nightmare Monday - Friday and this lake is really the only option that is reasonable. So praise God it is back in action.

It's about 5ft per color, trolling around 2mph, but I make turns and slow down and speed up, so that lure floats around 40-20ft depending on what is going on, however I marked them on the fish finder at 40ft, they seemed to be stacked up in front of the creek on the south side. Cooler and flowing water maybe.

Also, they seem to have put on some summer weight, this one bent my light weight rod down.

Tight lines!

Ok. I have to ask, which Hobie are you fishing from that lets you take your four legged partner? I don't think my 40lb Springer would have room on my Outback.

It's the pro angler 14! It is 15ft, 120lbs and can carry 600lbs of gear. I have been taking Daisy out since she was a puppy, and got that model mostly because I wanted her on the water with me. I had no problem pulling a crab pot in it, and it is solid enough to standup and walk around a bit if you want to take a better look around, awesome for bass fishing and hands free trolling. I put a hook 4 lowrance on it, caught a 40 inch ling cod off it back in May, it's been great. You can demo them on south lake Union at the hobie dealer, talk to Dan Carpenter. They also have a two seater pro angler that is huge.

How did Friday go? Get some summer trout? They seem to have some summer weight on them now, eating good out there.

Peter, I'm not on Facebook but I'm on NWKA... Am considering making an early morning trip tomorrow (7/4) from the beach at the park. I'd like to try the spots further north but that's about an hour peddle. Haven't checked out Idlylwood Park as a kayak launch but that'd be about 30 minutes closer. Jon
