My son and I hit the water about 7:15 this morning. He started with a rooster tail spinner and I used a 4" black and white shad colored grub, on a yellow and red eyed jig hook. We started around the island, the wind was blowing hard! I started hooking up on the grub pretty quick. The biggest one came first followed by a couple smaller ones before the second biggest. We switch my boy to the same set up but no luck.. nothing on the spinner. I caught another small mouth on the North side of the lake too, nothing else with big size. Overall, caught 7-8 smallmouth and as you can see, some big ones. I was never a believer in American Lake for have big smallmouth.. but now I am!
