I met with Glenn and Cami at 5:45am who brought their neighbor Leo along.
It was barely light with a gentle wind blowing. It was cloudy with the prediction of partly cloudy and low 70’s. Water temperature was 72 degrees.
Cami drove us over to the area by the north launch which was good for them last week.
We circled around and I was at 30 feet down but had just brought it up to 21 which triggered the bite for the kokanee I got. Only we thought it was a trout because it came up with its mouth open.
Then the longline got a small cutthroat that Leo brought in. After a while the downrigger rod gets a bite and Leo is reeling it in. He said “This is a big fish”. It was about a 16 inch male kokanee.
Then there was nothing until a passing boat came by and said hi then my line with the camera takes off. It is in the video. As we are all bringing our line in Glenn’s rod had a kokanee on it. In all the commotion it got hooked. It size was similar to mine.
I had to go to work so we stopped fishing at 9:55am
All our fish on the boat were caught with Wannafish A Lures Mini Pink Squiddy Thang hammered gold blade. I was using it with a Dick Nite Pink Splatter Dodger.
At the launch I was talking with Mark who had a nice mess of perch. He was telling me about how he got a perch trolling (another time) in 80 feet of water 30 feet down. Mark they are still there, see the video.
While it was slow on top of the water it was busy under the water but not as eventful as before.
We are in a battle! Angler against fish! We need an arsenal of weapons and at my site you will find some of those different weapons. For all those who wannafish a lure come in and take a look at WannafishALure.com.
