So this is for Sunday morning. Woke up to my alarm at 4:50 AM and got ready. Takes my Girlfriend a bit to get up, but I was able to get her up. Got to ward lake around 6:20 and lines in by 6:30.

We head straight out and about 5 min later , my girlfriend is fighting a fish. Trout and into the cooler. (I use trout as crab bait). Start going north and nothing on the fish finder. Go south and start marking some. Then my fish finder dies. Did not charge battery, great now I'm fishing blind. ( were spoiled with electronics.) I had an idea of where they were.

About 30 min aafter the first fish my girlfriend got another trout on the long line. I was at about 20ft. I was going to switch it and as I'm getting my other wedding ring bam rod goes off. Fish started running taking line, oh yea definitely a koke. Comes to the boat then takes of again. Finally get it back and gf nets it. since I got the bite when I unclipped it I thought I go more up. Went to 15ft. 10 min later bam girlfriend rod goes off. Kokanee. She has 3 fish now.
Reset hers then 15 min later my rod goes off but did not hook it. 10 min later the long line and another trout for my girlfriend. Reset and again her rod goes off and another kokanee. So she has her limit now. 2 kokanee and 3 trout. Me 1. Totally out fished me. We tried for a bit longer which I caught 2 more trout but released them. I was there for kokanee. 3 trout was enough.

So we ended with 3 kokanee and 3 trout. Was there for about 4 hrs. Not a bad day. Colors we used were orange and pink hoochie. Only 1 fish came from the hoochie. So orange was the hot color. I had orange too but I think the smile blade made the difference. I had spinner blade,gf had smile Blade. Fish were 14inch. Nice kokanee.
