Got to the lake just after sunrise.
The wind was already blowing 15 mph.
As I am not into wind surfing I decided to pass on inflating the raft.
Headed down to Rufus Woods for a look. The Game Warden told me fishing pretty much sucked.
Headed back towards Omak.
Stopped back at Leader and the wind was still blowing whitecaps down the lake.
Had lunch and fixed all the rods and leaders.
Bought a new ultra lite reel from Walmart today. The last one came apart when I hooked a Bass with it on 4# test and the drag and bearings gave up before the line broke!!
Oh well new toy for Fish lake in the afternoon.
Limited in 1/2 hour at Fish lake. 11-14" bows. Weed hogs. You hook em they dive for the weeds. Rod held up high and reel as fast as you can. Pretty comical. Not the way I learned how to land trout. Sure works good though.
Gulp eggs, pink and orange.
Wind was blowing pretty strong. Had to pick the time to cast between gusts. Two rods at once. Yeah!
It seemed to be a matter if the fish saw it falling in the water on the way to the bottom. The hits were almost immediate. If it made it to the bottom, sometimes there where no bites until you cast it back out again.
Will try Leader again in the morning.
Move from the Omak motel to one in Okanogan tomorrow. A lot shorter drive to the lake.
