I decided to go to cottage lake. It was raining at first so I start out on the dock. Without a single nibble I started getting my boay inflated. I decided I did not care if I got rained on or not. The wind was on though and that worried me. I offered my extra space on my craft(supposed to be 3person) to give another angler a chance at some fish. I saw then fish feeding so I knew despite the wind and rain there should be at least some chance of catching. The extra person and gear helped a lot to allow my boat to be more stable in the intense gusts of wind. We got out a ways and decided on on a simple tactic of worms with weight on about a foot leader pr more leader. I put out my trusty green attractor..similar to the Murphy's attractor dogder of kokanee. My fellow fishermen had a fish on really soon a nice fat cutbow. I could tell by the flash of redinder the mouth near gill area. Not long after I hooked into a nice little cutbow or rainbow..I could not quite tell but they all had that hint of red under chin that rainbows do not have. We had many bits between. Then I brought in a nice cutthroat beautiful silver and green and bright red slashs under chin. Then I caught a small perch, later a sunfish then a brown bullhead. Then I caught another one of those cutbows or rainbows. My fellow fishermen caught a nother perch and then later had something pretty massive on that peeled off line then snapped it. Then the bite seemed gone. The wind was blowing even more now. I had been rowing hard against it almost the whole time. So really amazing we caught anything. Lot's of tge fish hit as the wind trolled for us at a really good pace. All and all was fun. The fish were fighters. I am sure there will be a lot of great action to be had September / October on this lake if you cn handle the weather and the toxic algae. I did not see much indication it was still there but roped off it is still at the area people vswim in. Does this lake get toxic blooms every year or something? Great lake for variety though.
