Went to Sammamish later than usual. First cast at about 3PM.

Super windy on the lake. Fished the east side first bc everyone says go to the bank with wind blown.

Found dinks on a blown point. Got one that was just slightly bigger at about 1 pound.

Mainly using cranks, swimbait, and heavy football due to the wind. Mixed in a few DS when I had a good angle.

Get a 1.5# LMB on a crank on weed edge.

It was tiring keeping up with the wind.

Turned around and was thinking of heading back in. Decide to stop off along the west side for about 30 mins. This are stretch appears to be protected somehow. Caught a bunch of dinks on swimbait and DS.

I think when the books were printed, they had that dispute with the Indians about the salmon.

Yup. And it's open now because 'they' FINALLY got smart enough to figure out that fishing the lake at this time won't hurt their precious salmon.

I fished Sammamish yesterday. Not much wind, and it was partly overcast most of the day. Had similar experience in shallow and a very slow day. Then we drifted out deep and found good arches. Dropped a camera and saw a nice school of smallies with a few salmon. Lost the position and went to another spot. Moderate one caught in shallow, but not largemouth and nothing really big. Then for a giggle we trolled along looking at sonar in deeper water and found a good amount. Picked up five nice smallies in about 15 minutes. Then went silent except a few more in the next hour. I don't know how to fish cranks effectively, so all drop shot. Very few people out on the lake. This is my first year of fishing Sammamish, so I'm a newbie to the lake and bass.
