Deep Lake closed for the season yesterday. I was fortunate to give it one more try on Thursday, 9-28. Fished for two hours , mid-day and got one bite, one fish! Not the optimum time to fish but better than not fishing! Did not find the big schools of the week before. I measured this one, twelve inches. I hope next year the fish will be this size again.

For information on the lure I used, please refer to my feature article on this site. Just search: atroutfisherman and it will come up. Title is "They are landlocked Sockeye". Lately I added a chunk of Berkley Gulp worm and that seemed to increase the number of bites.

and........ the same set up with slightly smaller hooks also works for rainbow in Roosevelt - tried that set up a few years ago
after fishing in the July - Brewster mayhem - much quieter on the big lake. Have started using the Kekeda flies behind multiple
blades and it works too, when they're biting.
