Melissa and I took the pups out for an evening trip on Black Lake after celebrating the Seahawks win. Despite living in Lacey it was our first trip to Black Lake. We've hit every other lake in the area but it seems like when we've wanted to go to Black Lake there's always an algae alert.

We fished from 3pm - 6pm. The water was glass and it was a beautiful fall evening. We trolled with several different trout oriented rigs (flies, spoons, wedding rings, power bait). In just under 3 hrs we netted 4 rainbow trout, 1 crappie, 1 perch, 1 smallmouth and a catfish! All were released unharmed. Ranked 4/5 for weather and diversity of fish caught. Water was very murky and we did see algae at the launch. A few other boats were out but it seemed like we had the lake to ourselves for the most part. Trolled at 1.3 - 1.4 mph at 10-18 ft in 20-25 feet of water.

Nice evening!
