Decided it was time to hit rock, wanted to let the steelhead get a lil more size to them than earlier this year... Despite the 5hp kicker deciding to take the day off(flooded beyond restart), i still managed a limit of 4 steelhead and one bow... All about 16-17 or so. Perfect for the cast iron. Let one smaller one go and a small brownas well.. Tested out a new rig, a gulp minnow behind a 000 dodger, threading the minnow on about a 24" leader/ treble hook with a bait needle. Worked, got several bites and one fish about 30' fow on the drs. But the minkkota just couldnt get the speed i think the rig needed, after a short while, and i switched out to a new holographic kwikfish, on a planer board working near shore... That was the hot combo for the day.
