Took out the johnboat to fish Rock Lake, as the larger motor boat has been winterized. Overcast but not raining. Winds were light, but there was still a bit of a chop on the main part of the lake. I stayed on the southern third of the lake, marking fish with the finder mostly in the middle to the east side of the lake at about 40 feet. Caught two nice rainbows on the main part of the lake using a red and purple flat fish with maggots on leaded line. The wind increased so I took the johnboat into the inlet south of the boat ramp. Lots of action on a light flyrod with the sinking line using chartreuse and olive green trolling flies. Caught three more 13 inch rainbows there. Very healthy looking fish with pink meat. One of my best days out all year.
