Barely made it a 2 today as I only caught 1 fish. Started out running up to Clear Lake but the wind was howling pretty good so I left and decided to swing by Big Lake on my way home. The wind wasn't bad so I stopped to fish, fished around the launch cove at first without a bite before heading to the South End to fish around the pads. Caught one fish on a swim jig in the pads, a sub two pounder. Saw some fish rolling out in front of the creek inlet threw several lures their way before one breached good enough and I could tell it was a salmon!! I had no idea salmon came into Big Lake but there they were. I saw a total of 3 roll, one came almost clean out of the water, 100% definitely salmon bright red and heading up the creek! Pretlty wild. I fished a couple other spots I like on the lake, tried lures out to about 15 feet deep but didn't have another noteworthy bite. I had lots of little fish grabbing a Senko but nothing big enough to hook. The water is still very dirty from all the recent rains and there's even some left over toxic algae! All in all the lake is dirtier than I've ever fished it. Water temps were 52 to 53 degrees, the fish I caught came out of about 2 feet of water in some lily pads. Nothing on docks, nothing deep, on transition banks, in the rocks, nothing near wood, decided to pack it in as the dogs were getting cold will try something else tomorrow.
