Went to Kirkland. Sunny day. Wind from North. I'd say NNW 4-6 mph. Beautiful day. Did not have my sonar this time with me and it was a Mistake. Last year same time I had good time catching Yellow Perch and Pea mouth Chub. Today - NOTHING. On the water at 12:30pm and fishing till 3:30pm. Checked all my Honey Spots, using drop shot, golden cast master lure. Checked depths 100', 70', 60, 50' 40', using my anchor rope. Did catch just one perch ,7" and that was it. Don't know if it's because of North wind, Monday the 13th or it was just not my Day. Go Figure. But time was well spent. Enjoyed Good and Sunny day, being on the water is always joy. I used to fish this lake a lot for Perch and what you described has happened to me. I have never tried this early for Perch. It usually is hot from August through October and then who knows where they go.

Winter time Perch stays in 60-70' deep. Late Spring And Summer 10-20' deep.

South off Mercer Island??? December 60-100' deep , Oh yeas you can find them there. Try also Pontiac Bay, NOAA, Old Navy Station, North Off Magnuson Park, You Google it you'll find it. It's The Pier. You just cast it out late August-September-October, no boat needed. Around 4pm, when bitting starts, almost non stop. You use Drop Shot Set Up and 2 oz, Cast it out, let it sink and then Rill it in very slow. Perch meat works the best.Pontiac Bay.
