Started out to be a decent overcast day for our first trip to Big Lake. First came the wind 13-15, gusting to 20 mph. Then came the rain. We lasted about 3 hours by picking "quiet" water where we could. Trolling motor battery decided to give up the ghost shortly after launching so maneuvering was difficult. Fresh charge last night, so suspect it's T.U.
Tried lots of stuff but only caught one bass, a decent one at 2.75# on a swim jig. Wind made it nearly impossible to "finesse" anything, so we mostly fished reaction baits Once the rain became pretty steady we wrapped it up after about 3 hours.
Air temp 51, water temp 51.7-52 degrees.
