Ok, opening day at Williams - I was lazy and didn't feel like getting up early so got there at the crack of 10am. Fished until 1. Caught 4 had 3 other bites. Still fished worm and powerbait on my float tube. It was relatively windy so I didn't even bring my fly rod.

Fishing was fairly slow (see above) but I did get one nice 2 pounder. Lovely fish. A few boats that came by were doing well trolling and they showed me 3 nice 4 lb rainbow brood stockers. Additionally the nearest boat to me caught two large fish - I'm thinking 2 pounders but maybe bigger.

So, if I had to guess I speculate that the fishing is fine but not near what I consider to be it's peak in 2014. It's hard to say if the big fish were an fluke, perhaps most of the big planters are caught immediately on the opener. I suspect that next year will be the big year post rehab. I was fishing the far SW portion of the lake.
