Fished Sekiu for 3 days. Had fairly good luck fishing downriggers from 30 to 100 ft down.
The Luhr-Jensen Coyote spoons seemed to work the best, but then that's what we used the most.
The other lure we used was an oddball red hook/4 bead combo sold at the marine center in Sekiu.
On a lark I tied it on as I couldn't see how it would catch fish. Beats me why it works, but it does.
We caught fair numbers of silvers each day... about 10-12 per person. Only problem is finding ones
with clipped adipose fins. Most of the silvers are wild unclipped fish.
Saturday we were keying in on clipped fins so much that we almost kept an 18 pound king until we
looked at the gumline.
Saw a school of porpoises off Clallam Point on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday they were swimming
right under the boat. We wondered what it would be like if one hit a downrigger line. Never happened.
Next weekend should be even better with Monday's rain.
