I decided to launch at Kayak Point Park. I heard from several fishermen that the Cohos were running really good North of the pier. I got on the water about 7:15am. I hooked my first fish, about 6 pounds, on a white Buzz Bomb with a blue stripe at 7:45am about 1/4 mile North of the pier just at the end of the houses on the water. I lost 4 fish in rapid succession after that, one of them even bent over my hook. I caught my 2nd fish, about 8 pounds, on a white Dart candlefish at about 9:45am in the same area. There were so many fish I couldn't believe my eyes. They're stacked in the coves north of the pier waiting to go up the Stillaguamish. They were jumping all over the place, even right up next to the boat. If you are going to fish this area, you had better do it soon. Make sure you bring your anchor (I forgot mine and had to tie onto one of the buoys that's there) and fish in about 25-30 feet of water. Most of the fish were hitting when the lure was on the fall.
Lots of big fish are there and they are hungry!
