Got to silver lake at 5:30 am. It was the first time we fished this lake. The lake is supposed to hold kokanee, and that's what we were after. We both had lead core line, I started out with an apex kokanee killer in chartreuse, and Darren had on a hot pink apex. The lake is 50 ft in the middle so we went out 3 colors and trolled the middle. We caught nothing but rainbows that were 12". Tried flies, wedding rings, and various spoons, but no kokanee. I read from another report on this lake that the trout have white spots on them. The ones we caught by the boat launch side did, and the ones by the park side didn't. The spots look more like white boogers, and I asked Darren to try one, but no go. We released all fish, and headed to Stevens at 9:00 for some kokanee (see Stevens report) Anyone knows what that white stuff is on the fish?
