Fishing Brown's Pt. High-tide change around 7:00pm. we had 2 poles in the water one with a deep-six at about 50' (NO RESULTS) and the other on a down-rigger at about 80'. the depth of the water was about 100'-120'. The pole jerked a couple of time and released from the down-rigger. For the first couple of minutes, there was more line going out than there was coming in. My friend put the net around the fish and all were smiling. This was a more difficult/distracting task due to the Wednesday sailboat race going on around our vessel at the time. although this attention puffed up our egos a bit, it added confusion to the task at hand (at times the sailboats were passing within 30' of our boat). It was a beautiful 24lb. King. The gear being used was a black (reflective scale looking) & white flasher followed by the trusty-dusty red-white-blue salmon fly --this time covered by a purple hoochie-- who would have guessed... but this setup got 2 more strikes (no landed) while the other setup was flat-lining...
