Hein Bank is still smoking for halibut. Fished with Tom S on Sunday and we "withdrew" a pair from the bank! We started near Dungeness Bar in the early morning, but didn't get a bite. Water was flat so we headed North. Stopped next to a friend's boat to look at the 45 pounder they had just boated, their first ever. I hooked a 55 pounder about 10 minutes later. A couple of minutes after we harpooned it, the hooks came out, so we had to fetch the buoy to retrieve the halibut! Later in the morning I hooked a 27 pounder that Tom reeled in. Our friends got another 25-30 as well before they left to explore points North. Tbone was fishing with friends of his for the weekend. They got a 58 pounder on Saturday, with two 35-ish and a 25-ish on Sunday. Wahoo!
