An early morning start is the key to catching fish on Eloika this time of year. Over cast morning, cold and chances of rain or snow woke up us at 5:00 to hit the boat ramp by 6:00. Fish were rising just off the south boat ramp and to the north. The fish were feeding near the surface on the down wind shoreline. Crawlers on Mack's wedding rings with small split shot about 2' ahead of lure. My favorite is a clear bobber 3/4 dia with a Elk Hair Caddis fly. If you own a fly rod go tear them up. Largest fish was an 14" German Brown, :). Bass and trout are feeding heavy. Third weekend on the lake this Spring and no Crappie yet. State needs to address this lake real soon or we will lose one of the few small lakes full season lakes. BEWARE OF SHORELINE WEED LINE!!!!!!!
Great Fishing
