a good long Saturday of fishing!
we started out at 6am over in Edmonds on the Fishing Pier fishing for salmons, casting and reeling and assortment of lures, (buzzbombs, herring 2 1/4 pink and green lures) but no bites in the 4 hours we were there. 1 guy hooked up down at the end of the pier to a monster king, took about 15 minutes of reeling to get him close enough to drop the net down to grab him, bout the time the net hit the water the salmon busted loose and swam off, poor guy that lost him was devastated..
so after no luck in Edmonds we headed down to golden gardens pier in Ballard and dropped some crab traps and hooked up our gear to fish for rock fish. (power worms and slider weight worked good) lots of hookups but only one nice size rockfish kept for the afternoon feast. we also pulled in 5 nice sized red rock crabs. called it a day and headed home around 5pm to have a picnic and cook our catch..
all in all of course,, it was a beautiful day to be out fishing with friends.. and catching is always fun!
