My roommate and I spent the two days of westside sun (the 12th and 13th) camping at Westport. Had an awesome time. The fishing was okay. On Friday I got skunked, and my roommate landed a little black rockfish on a 6-inch green grub. He also lost a pretty nice fish. One of the guys we were fishing by landed a monster lingcod (for the jetty) and a very large black rockfish. He was using a bright orange plastic worm, 5-7 inches long.

On Saturday we came back with brighter colored jigs. My roommate got skunked, but I landed two undersized lingcod (both around 17-inches) and also threw-back a smallish black rockfish (pictured). The jetty was as packed as I've ever seen it that day-- it was actually difficult to find a decent spot. For perspective I've never seen that jetty with over a dozen people fishing off of it; on Saturday there had to be around 40.

Both days we fished for about three hours on the incoming afternoon tide. Crabbing was pretty good off the dock, we got three keeper dungies in about four hours. We released one due to it missing both claws. Raccoons, deer, and tons of frogs were plentiful in the area. Spring is here!... Sort of.
