Fished from the beach on the incoming tide using both rubber worms and sandshrimp. Fished for about three hours and only had one bite. The water was clear and the surf was pretty smooth so I was hoping for a better result. Perhaps my choice of bait wasn't best, but I'd read of others doing well on plastics for perch. I usually use either clam necks or nightcrawlers on two snelled hooks, but didn't have either one at my disposal this time. The beach in that area doesn't have much slope to it so you really have to cast to get to deep water, either that or wear waders and stand up past your knees. I may head north to Kalaloch next time as I've had better luck there in the past. If anyone has any pointers I'd appreciate hearing from you all.
