Just a quick report....this is two in a row for me now being skunked....
Hit Point Lawrence and Peavine/Obstuction Pass. Was gunning for the kings, of course. No luck. water was EXTREMELY calm....even met a friend of mine 12 miles out in his 15' flatbottom!! Trolled flasher/hoochie in anywhere from 80-130ft. some days you get them, other days you don't. As a side note, i decided to switch to a mooching rig with a spoon around Peavine because the DR was not treating me well. I was trolling pretty slow (<1mph) because the rain started, so i had to put the rain gear on. I had one leg in my rain bibs and i hear my reel clicking (it was in the DR rod holder). so i hop over to my pole one legged, and it starts singing!! I thought to myself...YES...a nice chinook/coho. Well, it ended up being a 35 in. (approx. never did boat it) Ling attached to a 12 in. Rockfish. What a heart-breaker!!! oh well, can't complain to much about getting to battle a 15lb ling. Also got 3 keeper dungies, but i was more after the fish. Fishing pressure was light, only a couple boats on and off all day. they are here, just have to find them at the right time. good luck...
