I took a charter trip out of Neah Bay with my brother in law & cousin fishing for Canadian Halibut off of Vancouver Island and was not disappointed. The water was the flattest I have ever had in 30 years of fishing the ocean no wind, rain or chop, just great fishing for cookie cutter Halibut in the 15 to 25 pound range using white split tail rubber jigs This is the 3rd year I have taken this trip and our quickest day on the water yet limiting the boat out with 16 fish in 1 hour & 10 minutes then the skipper was nice enough to take us out for some incidental ling of which you are allowed 2 a day and I was fortunate enough to get my 2 Ling Cod using pipe jigs as the Ling Cod fishing was a little slower. On the downside the Canadians are making it tougher to do this fishery and you must drive to Canada to get your License as they will not let you buy them online like you could in the past. On our return home we spotted a Canadian charter fishing for Halibut 3/4 of a mile over the boundary on the U.S. side but what can you do ???. Anyway it was still a great trip and I will be back again next year.
