I HAD to get out. It's been almost a month for me on the saltchuck. Primarily going for some late season crab, but while we were at it, might as well jig for some salmon, right?? Ended up with two keeper dungies in about three hours. 2 stars. Got some great info from A "I should be a guide" 9 on non-DR salmon fishing right before I left. I felt very confident in my presentation, just nothing biting. (couple small cab's) Talked to one very nice gentleman at the launch, and he said the salmon in this area we very "tight lipped". Need to know just the right presentation I guess...
But...I was not far from a commercial netter. they were doing 1 hour sets and i personally saw 15-20 salmon per hour from these guys....a couple NICE ones too. So the fish were there....now if I could just get a recreational netting license for a small craft....I'd be set!!
Anyway...VERY calm day, sunshine and a couple crab boiling in the pot as we speak....man life is good. Thanks again Area 9....very helpful individual there. I'll probably try again Sun or Mon if this weather pattern holds...(salmon that is, not crab!)
