I took my mother-in-law, Rose, out for some coho action in the south Sound. I had been hearing that there were fish around the south end of Squaxin Island. I had never fished in that particular area before so I didn't know what to expect. The water was only 50' deep and we could see coho jumping and porpoising around. I set one downrigger down to 30' with a green Coho Killer behind a green Hot Spot. The other downrigger was set at 40' and had a hoochie and Hot Spot. Well, the green Coho Killer was the ticket. Rose brought in a nice fat coho around 10# not even ten minutes in to the troll. We fished the area for a couple more hours only picking up a couple of shakers. All in all a great day. The weather was warm and the water was like glass.
