Fished from 9 to 3 today. Tried Elger Bay at one tide change and tried Camino head during the second tide change. I saw five other boats at both locations and did not witness any other fish being caught--no bites either. However, we did witness two of the LARGEST WHALES I have ever seen in my life!!! I will post my pictures later, but these were not orca/killer whales? Does anyone know what they more than likey were? Do Grey whales enter the Puget? We spotted them between Hat and Whidbey Island...

I spoke to a fish checker last April @ everett launch after having seen a Grey Whale just S.E. of Hat Island. She confirmed that they will come in the spring with young to feed on the herring that stack up around Hat. Your not hallocinating. Grey Whales in Port Susan/Gardner and Saratoga.

Niko-san,

Thanks for sharing your reports. Its been a rough winter blackmouth fishery so far, but we'll keep plugging away. Good luck and be safe out there!

Stay fresh.....JERM
