Halibut report. We launched at Cornet bay at 6am. Huge waves and tides turned me and lots of other boats around when we reached West beach. Sat at the launch jigging herring with a guy that let us borrow his jig for an hour till we all headed out like a shotgun start. Got to Hein Bank and it was really nice out all day long. I hooked up with a pig for about 20 mins but in my stupidity, I got impatient and broke him off. My buddy had one really good strike but no hook up. It was really slow fishing. I saw one boat land a fish, a chicken, maybe 15-20 lbs. The water flattened out and we were able to run wide open most of the day. At the launch, we heard 6 fish checked, most coming off Partrige Bank. Oh well.....Atleast I was fishing and got a nice suntan.
