We dropped in around 600am and decided to make a run up to Sachet Head, and see if we could muster up some lings. We got there withing the half hour,, and man the water was pretty nice up there, a few waves from boats but other than that is wahat pretty glass. Wow there was alot of people there for a friday.. So anywho we set down just a little up past from the Green Can in 70 feet of water, we were marking some slabs, we thought we were gonna rip lips, Nothing... IWe were all using horse herring, big hooks, and 6 to 8 oz of weight. and not getting anything at all. I also noticed the currents were not as furious as usaual which made it kinda of nice for jigging. But after a awhile people were getting right next to us and all over, Everyone was using sandabs lol, OF COURSE WE HAD NONE. So I put on a 4 oz banana and a storm swim bait all white, with 3 feet of leader. Those bad boys perform well, Im going to try them again but in a bigger size. I boated a ling that was about 24 and half ( darn it so close) No lings the rest of the day. We did manage to hook 1 nice rockfish about 2 pounds, and a failry big Ratfish about 4 pounds. With the currwnt dying and the fish turning off we headed for South Hat. There has to be schools of springers in there, we marked fish in the 200 foot all the way to 70 feet nice big arcs, So I switched to a crippled herring, hoping to find out what they were. NO LUCK I only ended with another rockfish about 2 pounds. But that crippled herring was getting alot of action I had sevral Nice hits and a couple good fish on 1 was possible ling, he was striping line and everything.. Ill be back for you later...... All in all a good day . Lost minimal equpiment, had the bbq going with burgers, and caught siome nice rockfish.
