So we started fishing in the north islands for Lings. Within an hour and a half we had released 4 undersized and kept 4 that were from 27-31 inches. Not the pigs we were looking for but we were quite happy with our limit. Motored out to the Hali spot, Man the weather was so great. Within 20 mins I missed a fish ( to jumpy on the hookset) and 20 mins after that another missed fish on a pipe jig. Later in the day, I lost my Halibut virginity. A little 15 pounder. But I was still really happy ending the day with 4 keeper lings and a hali. I will be posting pics as soon as my brother-inlaw sends me the pics. I think he's holding on to them to see what they look like, since he did'nt touch a fish all day. (ooohhhh, witty banter). The ling spot is a secret, but the hali fishing was at Middle Bank. Saw 3 other fish brought aboard. One of them was so hot, we heard it pounding the deck of the boat from more than 1/4mi away.
