The morning was one not to be missed aboard "THE DIRTY OAR" the Water was like glass No wind and sun coming up over the cascades.""BEAUTIFUL"". Dropped some crab pot at meadowdale area and trolled humpy hollow for a couple hours with no such luck, I guess its a bit early yet.. Decided to try our luck at bottom fishing so we cruised over to Possession. You could have walked across the boats out there.. After about three minutes of Mooching my favorite chrome and pink Pt. wilson Dart @ about 100 feet ""WHAM"" Fish on... Thought at first it was nothing but another Cod or Quillback only to have the rod nearly jerked from my hand and start tearing out line, I knew at this point I did not have your average rock cod but some sort of Fiesty Creature of the sea trying to pull me overboard...Then there was the all to well known Flash the sun reflecting right off his broad side trying to blind me. "Chinook". You dirty fish I thought as I looked at my barbless hook clinging to the front bottom of his mouth.. The fight only lasted about 8 minutes untill we slide him in tired and worked into my net. Where I was very excited to see that his adipose fin had been clipped.. Its a Keeper I yelled . First salmon this year for me at 24 pounds and 31 inches he managed to kick my 330 pound butt.. My arm kept cramping up the rest of the day but it was well worth it... Man Im a Weener
Althouth up to this point thought the day was gonna be perfect to only discover that after a 7 hour soak that two of our pots were stolen and the other 4 were emptied by someone else..
I wish there was still some fisherman etiquette and not to mess with other peoples pots, but apparently there are still pathetic people that call themselves fisherman. When they are nothing more than thieves and Losers...
""You can give a man a fish and feed him for a day, or you can teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime"" Think about it Fisherman..Good luck to all and see you out there....Fish on....
