spent four days in neah bay. My son and myself. Hooked and released over fifty silvers and pinks each day in a three or four hour time frame each day.. It was tough. if you had a rod out it got smacked. all depths. i was catching pinks at 130 down. I was trying to bust away from the silvers and pinks.. I quit using the down riggers and put a 5 ounce weight on because I got tired of pushing the up button and dealing with the clip... It didnt matter!! if there was a pole out and in the water.... it had to be cleared off of a fish... My son was tired of realing salmon in... I was releasing 20 fish an hour.... and had to go through 20 natives to get to the hatchery fish.. the pinks were everywhere.. I then started fish the top 5 feet of water and got a little break from the pinks and and got alot more silvers... Also was catching plenty of blackmouth but no big ones.. Friday i called it. i was up at 4:30am and asked my son if he was ready for another brawl? I didnt wait for his answer.. we arrived back home this friday. I think the year in the south sound is going to be a good one!!!
I was using a flasher and a sqid.. the color was green/glow... I dont think it mattered. no scent or strips on the squid..

WOW CS...I had a few days like that too...but then my alarm would go off and I'd realize I had to get up and go to work!!

Thanks for info, that's about where my wife and I were two weeks ago, caught a pair of kings there. We are going back the second weekend of august, maybe one day at Neah Bay, another at seiku. Bob

right on bobby!! I was staying at the cape.. but i found another camp-RVsite. i cant remember the name but its on the end of the road through neah bay and is alittle cleaner and is right next toi the ocean..
I never experienced fishing like that before maybe back in the 60s when i was a kid at Illwaco... My pops had a boat and we would stay for three or four days and we had some crazy days back the fishing for silvers. Next time im bringing bait... in brine to get away from the pinks.... That trip will be a lasting memory for my son and I.. 50 fish in four hours was nuts. I ended up only using one pole because I couldnt deal with both being in the water. my left forfinger looks like it went through a shredder from reasing all thoughs fish... I loved it!! well have fun..
