We left Redondo boat dock just after 10 am. Began trolling headed south along the shore line. Tide was just beginning to come back in and about a quarter mile south of the launch we began seeing a large school jumping and feeding on the surface. a pass thru this area landed our first of the season. We managed to catch another 6 in the same general area. It was impressive to watch the surface of the sound churn with so many fish rolling and jumping for whatever they could get. Watched a small sea lion in several spots, but with so many targets it never got close to any boats that I could tell. There were mostly people casting into the schools and I don't think anyone went home empty handed.
For the first time my father in law caught more fish than I did, I think that I will go back to casting jigs, I seem to have better luck with them than trolling the stupid white flasher and pink hoochie squid, but my father in law was catching them faster than I could kill and clean em...
Good luck and tight lines everyone.
