Eureka I've discovered king is about all I can say. Watching people to the left and/or right of me all summer at the pier hooking up has been a drag - and not the one on my reel either.

I started out in search of Pinks but changed both rods and jig when a king had was caught around 6:45 P.M. I honestly didn't expect much (around 8:18 PM) after that one was caught and had just made the comment well this is the longest 20 minutes ever for the follow-up. I had just put on my jacket thanks to the wind and was getting close to calling it a night when the happy/nightmare/happy/nightmare/happy/nope nightmare/ oh its happy event occured.

The fish may have been on the hook the entire time but it felt like I lost the fish at least three times only to reclaim the prize (thank you assist hook http://www.gamakatsu.com/new_products/new_assisthook.htm). The bad news was the last net had left the dock and the guy next to me had to suffer a heart attack as he said running to his car to get the net.

I'd like to thank the netter for being nice enough to get the net out. Not complaining, but why is it when one hooks a king that every royal and not so royal visitor has to clam up to the joker with the fish and not privide any wiggle room for the joker with rod and the fish that decides to take a swim?
