In-Laws and their friends came up from ID for a little saltwater action. Crab pots went in south side of Hat Island and we had our lines in the water by 0710 just north of Shipwreck. Had 5 pinks in the boat by 0830. Primarily using white 8" flasher and pink coho killer at 85'. Not a single hit on pink hoochies. Fishing slowed to a crawl in the late morning. Had one more in the boat and several misses in early affternoon. 6 pots yeilded 16 keepers which was a nice surprise after not doing well there earlier in the season. All in all the folks from ID had a wonderful time other than one lost hat from standing up while underway, one broke pole from not understanding down riggers and one cell phone to the deep six from shirt pocket when bending over side to wash their hands.... Today (8/20/09) is another story. Made it 3/4 of the way to Hat Island before I called it and went back to Everett launch due to 4'-5' waves and about 15-20mph south wind which made it too miserable for the land lovers on board... There is always tomorrow...
