WOW! What an amazing day at the Hollow. Fantastic weather and very calm! We had lines in the water at 6:30 am. First fish came at 7:00 am. From 7:15 to 7:50 we netted 7 pinks and lost 2 others one which I believe was a silver based on how it fought. We also had 3 other takes off of the down rigger that did not hook up. Very active! The key for us the last two mornings seemed to be to go deeper once the sun showed itself. We moved our presentations (pink mini squid and white flasher) to 65 feet and the fish wouldn’t leave it alone. We ended the trip with a double in which both fish were landed. I was fortunate to land a 6.2 pound pink (buck) as well which was a bonus. All were very bright healthy fish. This was one of the best hours of fishing I can remember. I have 4 soaking in brine for tomorrow’s smoke, and 2 food savered after filleting. My buddy Doug choose to take 2 of the 8, thank you Doug! Back at the launch we were told that we were the second boat to return to the launch, and the parking lot was nearly full. The first boat to return was occupied by one fisherman who had 4 fish. What a morning! 6 of the 8 pictured back at the house.
