Launch at Everett 445 am. Outgoing tide, very little wind out of the NW, clear skies.
My brother and 12 year old son were using divers with 8" white flashers and pink mini hootchies 20" behind tied with double Gama 2/0 red hooks.
I was using an 11" white flasher with a pink coho killer tied 36" back off the down rigger.
Started trolling south from Mukilteo with the tide at 615. Gear set at 25', 35' and 45'.
First fish on at 7, a double. we miss netting both fish. Fixed the netting problem ( location on the boat for the net man)
Pretty steady action from that point on.
My nephew lost quite a few fish but heck this was his first time out salmon fishing.
High point of the morning, TWO triples back to back with all the fish netted and brought on board, what a bloody mess that was, but definitely a hoot.
We were lacking 1 fish for a boat limit at 930. Finally picked up the nephews last fish at 70' off the down rigger. The time was 1030.
The most IMPORTANT thing we found out was all the hits came while trolling south even after the tide change. Not 1 hit while trolling north even when we were marking fish and saw them jumping on the surface.
The other thing I noticed was the pink coho killer almost always had the bigger fish hit it.
The double hook setup had both hooks set about half the time which helped keep the fish on while trying to net doubles and triples.
It was a great day out fishing with my brother and nephew.
I have 3 days off this coming week and plan on taking the in laws out.
End of day, flat calm and low overcast.
