I moved the boat from Neah Bay to Puget Sound on August 31 and had our first trip on Thursday, September 3. I know the Pink fishing has been great, but we wanted Coho so we headed for Point No Point, partly because we thought the early Silvers would be there and partly to escape the strong South winds that were blowing. We trolled both flashers and lures (green splatter back hoochie and green and glow in the dark coyote spoon) and a cut plug herring. We caught two nice Silvers and had two more on in the first few hours. We also picked up a Pink and several small Blackmouth that we released. When the winds eased and the tide started flooding, we moved to Skagit Head and caught one more Silver to finish the day. I was excited to see some nice early Silvers in the Sound and am looking forward to better fishing later this month.
