took off early sat to be on the water early. mukilteo ramp was backed up, so i made the call to put in at everett. very bad call. musta been 100+ boats waiting to launch there. ended up putting in at langus and running down near possession. it was a pretty bumpy ride out with a north wind. we figured to target silvers today, as we've caught our share of humpies so far this year. it took us an hour to get our first hook up and it was a nice 9 pounder. he was caught at 45' with flasher and a green hootchie. spent the rest of the morning trying to stay out of the herd of boats and picked up 2 more silvers that were a little better than 6 pounds. both of these were caught with 55' on the downrigger, on a flasher and blue hootchie. the sun came out and it turned into a real pleasant morning. the high point of it all was my daughter catching her first salmon. ( darn picture won't upload). when it hit i handed her the pole and she played it like a pro. the fish jumped out of the water before she even started cranking. it made a few more leaps before making it to the boat, and with it's last jump, smacked into the side of boat pretty hard. made for some easy netting, lol. she was a very happy camper. headed for the barn at 1200. it was a good day on the water, and a good reminder just why i like to fish during the week !
