I took a buddy of mine from work out for a little winter black mouth fishing in area 8-2. Lines were in the water at 7:30 am and this fish (pictured) took my Cop Car Coho Killer at 7:40 am. This fish fought great taking lots of line as he dove to the bottom like a torpedo. After a short battle the hatchery king was in the net weighing in at 12.5 pounds and 29 inches long. The next fish was a shaker black mouth around 19 inches which was released unharmed followed by a wild black mouth that we estimated to be at just legal length, also released unharmed. We were back at the Camano Island State Park launch by 10:30. Very fun couple of hours during which time we had a few rain drops, a fair amount of wind which kicked up about 8:30 am, and some sunshine which was nice. All in all a good trip. Before writing this report I enjoyed a nice fillet grilled on the BBQ. Fantastic flavor!

Good to hear someone is catching legal sized fish in the Sound. May have to bag the Tengu and head North for some action. Thanks for the report!

would love to see the pic, remember to re size your pics or they will not show up. it would be cool if they could just automaticly re size our pics or at least warn the person when posting pics. sounds like you guys had a blast, bet that fillet was tasty.
