This is 3 reports in 1.
I have fished the past 3 out of 4 saturdays this month and landed fish all three tries.
My buddy and I are both out of Des Moines Marina.
All fish caight were just a little after day break when there is the beautiful orange light in the morning.
My 2 fish were both caught on the same rig, Purple Hot Spot flasher and Purple Ace Fly High Hoochie, 40" leader, and both at 88ft in 130ft water on a downslope of a point. Dont forget Blackmouth like to ambush prey so troll with the tide.
Yesterday it was my buddies turn, and he was using a brined cutplug herring at 130ft on a downslope. Flasher tied to the downrigger ball and bait clipped just above it. (no flasher between him and the fish)
SPRINGERS ARE HERE!!!!! Highlight of the day came when my buddy hooked a nice 27-28 inch wild Chinook (which we released in the water) and it took him for a ride. Also brined herring, with tide, 130ft. Shame we had to let her go, she was beautiful, probably headed for the Puyallup.
As for me yesterday, 3 strikes no fish, same setup.
CHEERS!!!
