Sat. mourning Captain Rick had the coffee on (but forgot the doughnuts) and ready to get back out where they knocked them dead the day before. The ocean was perfect for the hour and a half run to the fishing grounds and everything was setting up to be a perfect day. The only hitch in our plan was the Kings had lock jaw. After eight hours of hard fishing my son had two keepers in the #15 range, I had one hit and missed it the other three in our group never got a bump. The boat only had five keepers for 21 people that day. On the way back in Captain Rick told us that he was bottom fishing Sunday, I convinced my wife the sun was going to shine so the trip was on. Sunday with coffee and doughnuts onboard seven of us took off for rock fish. We nailed them. After limiting on large rock fish Captain Rick took us to his favorite lingcod spot. Lines hit the bottom and all you could hear was FISH ON from everybody. I have fished many many many trips with Captain Rick and have never had a bad trip. It was sad to hear that our deck hand and friend from last year had pasted away this spring. R.I.P. DAVE
